Healthy schools grow

The Government's Healthy Schools programme is to be expanded following a decade of success.

Figures show that the programme's target to get 75 per cent of schoolsto achieve Healthy School status by December 2009 has already beenexceeded. Public health minister Gillian Merron has outlined how theprogramme will be widened to include closer working with localauthorities, health services and the community.
