Having a space to call your own - one that you design, build and 'own', doesn't that sound great?

The need for such a space would seem to be a basic instinct from the time when we start to be mobile. As babies, as soon as we have control over our environment, we crawl under the table or into a cardboard box, and as adults we soak in the bath with the door locked, lights low, a packet of chocolate biscuits and a book!

Over the last year Living Colours, a workshop company in Devon, has been working in conjunction with the Devon Play Association delivering training packages for playworkers. We have also worked with the Plymouth Play Development Unit constructing dens with community groups. We have included dens for clubs with outdoor space and dens for those with restricted or shared indoor space, where ease of assembly and storage is of paramount concern.
