The Scottish Executive has announced the location of the first regional office for the new organisation which is to take charge of the regulation of early years services in Scotland. The Scottish Regulation for the Commission of Care, which takes over on 1 April 2002, will have five regional offices in all, and the headquarters of the central west region will be in Paisley. The office in the Piazza Building, Smithhill Street, will accommodate around 93 employees, including registration and inspection staff and their administrative and clerical support teams.
