It's a man's world too!

Parents often ask what made me want to work with children (answer: I like children), or comment, 'It's good to see a man'. Gradually, I've become less of a novelty and fewer people feel the need to congratulate me for just being there.

Parents often ask what made me want to work with children (answer: I like children), or comment, 'It's good to see a man'. Gradually, I've become less of a novelty and fewer people feel the need to congratulate me for just being there.

In ten years there have been only a few negative comments. One parent didn't want me to be his child's keyworker because, 'A man couldn't care for a child as well as a woman.'

But if a nursery doesn't want me because I'm a man, then it's a rotten nursery and I wouldn't want to work for them anyway.
