The Barn Day Nursery in Huntingdon, Roundabout Nursery in St Ives and Girton Nursery in Girton, formerly making up the HRH Nurseries group, have bolstered Kindred’s existing portfolio of 18 settings in Greater London, Essex, Salisbury and Bournemouth.

The purchases were supported by a £7.5m finance package from Santander UK, which is also funding the group’s future acquisition strategy.

Kindred Education was founded in 2015 and has a staff of 450 across its nurseries. It aims to acquire 30 new nurseries in the next five years, and expand its staff to 750.

Ruth Pimentel, chief executive of Kindred Education, said, ‘We are thrilled to welcome HRH nurseries into the Kindred family and to extend our reach into Cambridgeshire. They have already become a valued part of our group given their excellent match with Kindred’s ethos and high expectations of quality.
