Children eat more spinach after watching cartoon Popeye, research has shown.

The study of four to five-year-olds by Mahidol University, Bangkok, alsofound that children were proud they had eaten vegetables in their schoollunch thanks to the cartoon character, who famously eats spinach forstrength, reported the Daily Mail.

Nearly three-quarters of children have never played the playgroundfavourite hopscotch and ten per cent think it is a soft drink, accordingto a study by Persil. The children surveyed said they would rather playNintendo Wii than conkers, tag or marbles, said the Daily Telegraph.
