Nursery World - Monty the Duck, the Meningitis Trust's mascot

(Photograph) - Monty the Duck, the Meningitis Trust's mascot, will find he has plenty of imitators on this year's Toddle Waddle from 2 to 15 October, supported once more by NurseryWorld. The event draws more than 50,000 children from 800 nurseries across the UK and Ireland to toddle, waddle, skip, hop and jump to raise funds to support research on meningitis, raise awareness of the disease and provide support to families who have been affected. In 2004 the sponsored toddles raised 355,000 and the event has raised more than 1.3m in the six years it has been held. All groups or individuals who register will receive a free pack of goodies including balloons, stickers and yellow duck hats. The Trust is also offering prizes, including a computer and a book featuring a story about a duck. Participants can register online at www.toddlewaddle.org or call the Trust on 0845 644 0184.
