How did it feel to be named Innovator of the Year at the City and GuildsLion Awards?

I was gobsmacked. I was very proud, but also embarrassed. The awardsceremony, for winners of the City and Guilds Medals of Excellence, waslovely. Being named as Innovator of the Year was a complete surprise tome - although my colleagues already knew and had managed to keep it asecret.

What innovative teaching methods do you use?

I try to adapt my teaching methods, as things are constantly changing -that is just the nature of the job. Some students come to me havingstruggled at school and have no confidence. The more belief I give them,the more motivated they become.
