Storytelling week

Settings across the country got busy for National Storytelling Week, 29January to 5 February. At Little Acorns Stanlaw in Ellesmere Port,Cheshire, children brought in their favourite books from home and didactivities based around the stories. Happy Child Nursery in Shepherd'sBush, London (top), welcomed children's TV presenters Rani Price andCerrie Burnell as storytellers. Award-winning author Michael Cox visitedSunbeams Day Nursery in Harrogate, North Yorkshire (bottom), where hetold stories and drew pictures from his books, including Little FredRiding Hood.

Little Angels in Brighton, East Sussex and Wareham Tops Day Nursery inDorset marked Australia Day on 26 January. Children at Little Angelsmade Lamington cakes and didgeridoos, while at Wareham Tops Day Nurseryan Australian visitor taught children about Aboriginal culture.
