- Bears get busy

Bears came in handy at Busy Bears Nursery in Durham when children raised61.20 for Action Medical Research's appeal, Touching Tiny Lives.They brought their own teddies to nursery for the day, and had a teddybears' picnic serving Paddington Bear's favourite sandwiches.

- Award for health

Little Acorns Day Nursery in Washington, Tyne and Wear, has won the WearHealthy Early Years award. Staff were required to collect evidence ofhow they promote a healthy start in children's lives, looking at menus,activities and the advice they give to parents. Managing director NeilRitchie presented staff with gifts to thank them for their hardwork.
