In the Pink

Children and early years staff in settings across the country showedtheir support for Breast Cancer Awareness month throughout October.Staff at the Pre-School Learning Alliance in Cambridgeshire andPeterborough dressed in pink for their second annual conference andraised 156. At Abacus Nursery in Aberdeen everyone dressed inpink and took part in pink-themed activities, raising 308, whileMagic Daycare Nursery in Whetstone, London, held a pink tea party andinvited a breast cancer nurse to come in and talk to staff, parents andcarers, while raising 135 for charity.

Charitable Artists

Grena Road Day Nursery and Pre-School in Richmond, London, raised 350 for the charity REACT - Rapid Effective Assistance for Children withPotentially Terminal Illness - from the sale of the nursery children'spictures at last month's open evening. The children spent the weekbefore the event creating drawings that were displayed on A4-sizedcanvases. Parents bid for their children's pictures and those who wereunable to attend sent donations.
