- Childminders honour

A group of 17 childminders in Barking and Dagenham, London, werepresented with certificates for completing the NCMA's Making a BigDifference course. The successful candidates were Nadia Amrane, OlaAudeluola, Caroline Broad, Kelly Diggins, Olivia Eve, Fatima Faruk,Erica Flowers, Joy Hopkins, Tracey Hurlock, Rachel Luckhurst, CherylLynch, Dalgit Panesar, Gayle Phillipson, Jo Richards, Rachel Sheppard,Maria Tabassum and Laura Tribe.

- Craft of transition

Children from Stanlaw Abbey Community Nursery in Ellesmere Port,Merseyside, joined Oaks Primary School's reception class for an arts andcrafts session. The children made hanging baskets for the school'sgarden.

- Helpful health check

Children at Ashbridge School and Nursery in Hutton, Preston, checked thehealth of some teddy bears with toy stethoscopes and medical equipmentwhen medical students from the University of Manchester, based at RoyalPreston Hospital, came to teach them about what might happen if they hadto go into hospital. The visit was part of the nursery's 'People WhoHelp Us' topic.
