The Sensory Blocks are an innovative multi-sensory resource that can beused to link in with important elements of the Early Years FoundationStage, such as knowledge and understanding of the world, exploration andinvestigation and creative development. The set of differently shapedblocks are framed by wood and contain beads, transparent acrylic,coloured sand, water and glitter.

The 16 blocks in four different colours can be used to explore shape,light, sound, colour, texture, sorting and matching and as buildingblocks. The bead-filled blocks make different sounds when they arerattled and, used inside a feely bag, can be used for sound and shaperecognition. The sand and water-filled blocks can be rotated to helpchildren to learn about the properties of different materials.
