Picture puzzles

Help the children to make their own jigsaw puzzles to develop memory and co-ordination skills. Resources

Resources

Old calendars or magazines, scissors, thin card, glue, paper bag.

Step by step

* Help the children to look through an old calendar or magazine and ask them to choose a picture that they would like to use to make their jigsaw puzzle.

* Cut out the picture and stick it on to thin card, which will make it less flimsy.

* Now carefully cut the picture into large puzzle shapes. The more pieces you cut, the harder it will be to reassemble the picture.

* Place the puzzle pieces inside a paper bag and shake it so that all the pieces get mixed up.
