When will the sector realise that if you want high-quality provision and committed staff, you have to treat them like professionals and not glorified char ladies?
The Government 'talk the talk' but they do not seem to want to acknowledge how low pay is in the private sector. A colleague of mine with an NVQ 2 gets paid more per hour in the public sector than a level four person like myself gets in the private sector.
I am sick of being treated like a skivvy, so I am getting out. At 42 I don't have enough years left to wait around to finally get some respect and a decent wage!
