Research into care services

Research into care services in Europe, including childcare, is bringing the Thomas Coram Research Unit into partnership with colleagues from five other countries. The project, which involves researchers from Denmark, Hungary, Spain, the Netherlands and Sweden, is examining services and occupations relating to the care of children, young people and adults. 'Care work: Current understandings and future directions' is reviewing quality, job satisfaction and gender, and theory and practice in a variety of settings. The project is co-ordinated by Professor Peter Moss and Dr Claire Cameron of the Coram Institute in London and is funded by the European Union. Details of the study can be found on www.ioe. ac.uk/tcru/carework.htm.
