Rolling Out the Standards seminars

Feedback from a series of Scotland-wide seminars has revealed that while some providers are confident about implementing the new national standards for early education and childcare, others feel daunted. Lynne Murray, one of the leaders of the Rolling Out the Standards seminars across the country until 21 June, said evaluation forms completed by practitioners indicated that those who were used to self-evaluation and had been working with the Scottish Executive document The Child at the Centre tended to feel more confident, as did those whose centres received Scottish Executive pre-school education funding. She said, 'It's about getting everybody up to scratch, and it's very much a process of working together.'
