Save the Children calls for help for Syria's children

Funding Families
With the turmoil in Syria and neighbouring countries at critical levels, Save the Children is calling for donations to help with its distribution of humanitarian aid to thousands of Syrian children.

An estimated 3.1 million children in Syria are in need of help and more than one million have fled the country to live in neighbouring countries.

Cat Carter, head of humanitarian communications, at Save the Children, said, ‘Our teams have so far helped over 600,000 children and family members across the region, including over 230,000 inside Syria with food, safe water, medicine, shelter, protection and education.’

Access to food remains a huge concern for children and their families, and Save the Children is distributing bread and food baskets with simple items like rice, oil and tinned fish.

Children fleeing Syria have their worlds turned upside down and urgently require safety, stability and a return to normality.
