Careers & Training
Name: Fiona Penfold

Position: Bright Horizons' regional manager for the south-west

- Why did you decide to climb Mount Snowdon for charity?

Every year, nurseries in the group are encouraged to hold fundraising events to raise money for Bright Horizons' charity, Foundation for Children. This year, staff from the nurseries in the south-west decided as a group to do something extra special and climb Mount Snowdon.

- How long did the climb take you?

There were 79 of us, including staff, family and friends, and we walked in groups of a minimum of five people. It took my group two-and-a-half hours to get to the top, whereas the average time is three hours and 30 minutes. Determination got everyone through, despite the abysmal weather and poor visibility.
