- How did you feel about winning the BUPA Shine award for LifetimeAchievement after working at Teddies for 11 years?

It was a shock, as I didn't know that I had been nominated for the awarduntil I was presented with it on the night.

- How have you celebrated?

I celebrated with my team, who were all very excited. I was awarded aplaque that I have displayed in the nursery entrance and gift vouchersto buy something for myself.

- Have you always wanted to work in childcare?

When I left college at 18 I had no idea what I wanted to do, but aftervolunteering at a playscheme in the summer I realised I wanted to findout more about working with children.
