Nurseries are being urged to take part in the annual celebration of school grounds and early years' outdoor provision between 9 and 13 June, organised by the charity Learning Through Landscapes (LTL). In Scotland, Grounds for Learning, LTL's sister charity, will hold its celebration in September. This year's National School Grounds Week, which is supported by the Department for Education and Skills, will focus on using the 'outdoor classroom', within and beyond school grounds. LTL said it was 'a place to gain first-hand experience of growing, farming and the countryside; encouraging everyone to take a greater responsibility for the environment'.
