SPRITO, the government-funded training organisation for playwork, drew up the strategy after consultation with the sector. Chief executive Stephen Studd said: 'The vision of the strategy is three-fold. First, to raise awareness of play and the key contribution it makes to development - it underpins community, families and our future. Second, to show the important role of playworkers and their skill in engagement and facilitiation. And third, that good training underpins that.'
