Felt sets of wings in different colours; coloured counters; plastic mirrors; 1-6 dotted dice.

Activity content

* Look at, fold and unfold the wings. Tell the children that there must be the same number of spots on each wing and rehearse this with them a couple of times. Ask: 'The red butterfly has two spots on one wing, what can we do to the other side to make it look the same?'
