Teather out in cabinet reshuffle?

There is wide speculation that children and families minister Sarah Teather is being replaced by David Laws in the cabinet reshuffle.

The Department for Education would not confirm the move.

There have also been reports that David Laws is to return to Government to act as deputy to education secretary Michael Gove.

The children’s minister was due to take part in a Mumsnet web chat on special educational needs reforms at lunchtime today but this was cancelled.

A tweet from @Mumsnet Towers said: ‘Sarah Teather webchat cancelled unfortunately - guess she’s been reshuffled.’

Tim Loughton has also left the Department for Education. He tweeted: Regret 2 report after 7 yrs Shadow Minister and 2 as Minister 4 Children PM asked me 2 stand down-good luck 2 successor in this vital role.
