They shall have music

The end of the foundation stage, most children will be able to recognise and explore different sounds, sing songs from memory and develop their creativity through a variety of musical instruments. Here we look at resources that will help them develop these skills Musical instruments

Musical instruments

Try to have as wide a range of musical instruments as possible. This will enable the children to experiment to their heart's content with all sorts of sounds and rhythms, and allow everyone - whatever their ability - to participate. The emphasis should be on fun and experimentation, rather than on formal learning.

The musical instruments available from Insect Lore were given an enthusiastic thumbs up from a nursery who tested them in our last issue.

All the instruments in the range have an animal theme. There is a Fish Tambourine (4.99), Clatter-Pillar (7.99), Animal Jingle Bells (10.99) and a Crocoglock (13.99). Great fun for the younger end of the age range.
