Nursery World - Transition stage

I am a trainee teacher completing a three year BA QTS course focusing on early years education. My dissertation is about the impact on teachers and their planning during the transition from reception to year one. I intend to look at differences between planning using the Foundation Stage document and the National Curriculum and National Numeracy and Literacy Strategies. I would like to find out how children cope with the change and if the overall transition is smooth. I understand that this is a controversial issue at the moment and would appreciate it if Nursery World readers could e-mail me with their views or feelings.
