'SMart on the Road - Competition winners'

The winners of the SMart magazine Dream Den competition have their garden shed in Surrey converted into the SMart studio by Kirsten O'Brien, Mark Speight, Jay Burridge and design expert Bizi Lizi.

'Rugrats'

(BBC 1, 4.10 to 4.35pm)

Two more cartoon episodes featuring the toddlers who find adventures in the adult world around them. In 'Submarine' Stu takes the young children to a car showroom where they imagine they are in a submarine and in 'Chuckie's a leftie', Chuckie realises he is left-handed.

'Five Live Report - Scots Wa Hae'

(BBC Radio 5 Live, 12 noon to 12.30pm)

It would seem that there has never been a better time to move to Scotland, as Scots look forward to the prospect of free university education for students, free residential care for the elderly and huge pay rises for public sector workers. The programme examines the possibilityof a 'tartan trek' as English, Welsh and Irish workers move north to reap the benefits. Also interviewed are critics who say de facto Scottish government in Edinburgh will lead to a two-tier Britain where tensions between the regions will inevitably rise.

'The Really Wild Show'

(BBC 1, 4.35 to 5pm)

Michaela Strachan goes to Skomer island in Wales to look at its huge population of resident seabirds - thousands of guillimots, puffins, kittiwakes, auks and half the world's population of manx shearwaters. She also looks for a female ringed razorbill which has reached the grand old age of 39 and may be the oldest bird in Britain.

(BBC 1, 4.10 to 4.35pm)

Another episode of the cartoon adventure series. The series follows Elizabeth Thornberry and her family as they travel around the world making nature documentaries, but they do not know Elizabeth's amazing secret - she can talk to animals.

'All in the Mind'

(BBC Radio 4, 4.30 to 5pm)

In the wake of the Government's drive to speed up the adoption and fostering process, Dr Raj Persaud visits the only course of its kind in the country aimed at giving foster carers the skills to deal with the increasingly disturbed children who are placed with them.

'Tomorrow's World'

(BBC 1, 7 to 7.25pm)

Each year at least 30 adults and children in the UK die from carbon monoxide poisoning. At present it is treated with pure oxygen, but with limited effectiveness. However, a doctor in Canada has developed a device which may help save lives by introducing carbon dioxide to the oxygen breathed.

'Horizon - Child Control'

(BBC 2, 9 to 9.50pm)

Five-year-old Hayley is out of control. She has severe aggressive behavioural disorders. One minute she is hugging her mother, but seconds later she is biting her. Hayley's aggression towards other children has put her on the verge of being withdrawn from school and her parents are desperate. The programme follows her family as they implement a controversial treatment programme under the supervision of American neuro-psychologist Dr Ron Federici, during which a child must stay within three feet of her parents, 24 hours a day, for at least 30 days.
