Well qualified

More than 30 successful students last month picked up their certificates from the new maternity nanny and maternity practitioner courses run by the nanny agency Tinies Childcare. The maternity nanny course is accredited by Thames Valley University and the candidates also gained the NVQ level 3 in Care (Maternity). They are now set for well-paid jobs looking after new mothers and their babies. At the awards ceremony were (left to right) Helen O'Sullivan, Tinies co-director Oliver Black, Sharon Findlay, Tinies training director Jenny O'Neill, Lindy Thompson, co-director Ben Black, Jenny Curtis, Cathy McNaughton, Ann Leech, Hayley Bennett, and (front row) Claudette Elsaaidi, Rebecca Wood and Michelle Pinnington. For details of future courses contact Tinies' head office on 0207 384 0322. Meanwhile, Top Notch Nannies has also begun intensive training courses for prospective maternity nurses with instruction by registered midwives and health visitors. The course is aimed at nannies who already have some experience in caring for newborns, while the job of maternity nurse likewise involves helping the mother and the rest of the family as well.
