Going abroad

Before any family leaves for a holiday abroad they should make sure everyone's immunisations are up to date, especially for polio, tetanus and diphtheria. Depending on which country you are travelling to, and the age of the child, vaccinations for diseases such as yellow fever or typhoid, or malaria prevention, may also be necessary. Check with your GP, the travel operator or the embassy of the country to be visited.
