Remembering Queen Elizabeth II

In June, just three months before the death of Queen Elizabeth II, childcare settings across the country marked Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee. Here we take a look back at all the photos we received from nurseries and childminders celebrating the life and reign of the Queen.

At My Playroom Childminding Service in Leicester children enjoyed a Jubilee party with lots of delicious foods and Union Jack themed party accessories.

Children from Jellybabies Nursery & Pre-school based at Longbridge Methodist Church, Birmingham drew a picture of themselves for a joint card which was sent to the Queen. They also had a jubilee party for parents, carers, grandparents, siblings and the children. The children came dressed as royalty and took part in a jubilee parade.

Children at Gateways School in Leeds (pictured above) performed a concert for parents, waving flags and singing songs with a royal theme. They included – ‘How much is that corgi in the window’ and ‘Crowns, shoulders, knees and robes.’

Buckingham-based Princes Risborough Primary School's pre-school class enjoyed a street party, as well as Jubilee themed arts and crafts and a palace home corner with a 'golden' throne.

Little Barn Owls Nurseries in Horsham celebrated in a range of ways including a large tea party for families attended by a very special guest.

Children and staff at Busy Bees Coventry welcomed the Lord Mayor and Mayoress to the setting for an afternoon tea party.

And in 2016...

After sending a birthday card to the Queen to mark her 90th birthday, 1st Steps Day Nursery in Bootle, Merseyside, was delighted to receive a letter from Her Majesty.
