Top childcare professionals in the making

Careers & Training
Calling all tutors! It's time to enter your best students for the Pearson and Nursery World Childcare Student of the Year 2012 award.

The award is given to a student or trainee practitioner who performs brilliantly on their childcare course and who shows the potential to be a great childcare professional.

This year, the winner and runners-up will be announced at the glamorous, black tie Nursery World Awards event in London on 28 September 2012. The winning student will receive a cheque for £350 and a year's free subscription to Nursery World. The winning college gets £350 of Pearson resources. Runners-up each receive a cheque for £100 and £100 of Pearson resources for their college.

Tutors should download the nomination form and tell us just why their chosen student deserves to win by 30 March 2012.

Shortlisted students will be asked to send in a written piece of their work, usually an assignment or observation. Then, the four finalists and their tutors will be invited to Pearson's offices in summer 2012 to meet the judging panel, including well-known expert and author Penny Tassoni. Finalists will be given a case study to report back on to the panel.

Then it's fingers crossed until the awards ceremony being held at the Nursery World Awards.
