A website providing a voice forchildren and young people in Wales

A website providing a voice forchildren and young people in Wales has been redesigned, with an official relaunch by Jane Davidson, minister for education and lifelong learning. Funky Dragon, the Children and Young People's Assembly for Wales, is funded by the National Assembly for Wales and Comic Relief. The website at www.funkydragon.org has a 'your say' section that features discussion topics generated by young people as well as by Welsh Assembly departments. It also has 'how to' guides for people wanting a career in politics, a buzz word page which aims to demystify some of the more obscure political terminology, and interviews with Assembly members, including First Minister Rhodri Morgan. There are also sections on sport and poetry by young people and unlimited space for youth groups to advertise themselves, as well as advice on safe surfing of the internet and how to behave when online. The website is currently receiving more than 200,000 hits a month.
