An insult to us all

I have been a classroom assistant for just over a year. I love my job, but in no way do I think it compares to the teacher's role in the classroom. In my opinion it is an insult to teachers to suggest classroom assistants could do their job. But it is an insult to classroom assistants too, as we have a very different role to play in helping pupils and teaching staff.

For the Government to expect classroom assistants to teach for no increase in salary is also an insult. In my school it has been proposed that classroom assistants should write children's Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
