A shoebox blue, green and yellow card black and yellow pipe cleaners string yellow tissue paper two small magnets

Step by step

* Stand the shoebox upright. Cut the blue, green and yellow card to create a sky, grass and a sun to fit inside.

* Cut a flower shape out of coloured card. Wrap one magnet in yellow tissue paper and place it, north pole facing up, in the centre of the flower. Stick the flower to the base of the shoebox.

* Make a bumble bee by twisting the yellow and black pipe cleaners around the other magnet, making sure the north pole is facing down.

* Hang the bee by string from the top of the box, so it hovers above the flower.

* The appearance of the bee collecting pollen will intrigue the children and encourage them to find out more.
