In brief...The Child Povery Action Group

The Child Povery Action Group has called on Chancellor Gordon Brown to put reducing child poverty at the centre of this week's Pre-Budget Statement. CPAG director Martin Barnes said, 'Progress is being made, but additional spending on the new integrated child credit will be crucial if the Prime Minister is to deliver on his pledge to eradicate child poverty and if genuine improvements in education and health standards for all children are to be achieved.'
