All childcare providers are to receive a leaflet to put them in the picture about the new Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care. The leaflet, Care Regulation is Changing, explains that the Commission will use new national standards which will apply to local authority provision as well as private and voluntary settings when it takes over registration and inspection of all childcare services on 1 April. The leaflet, produced by the Scottish Executive, is available on its website, www.scotland.gov.uk (News, 28 February).
