Children will be in their element with a wide-ranging project exploring the properties and uses of water, says Helen Shelbourne Do the children in your setting know that more than half the world is covered in water? Do they understand why it is a good idea to have a bath? Children have a natural fascination with water and this project helps them to discover for themselves some of its uses. They can investigate the properties of water by filling and emptying containers and let off some steam by singing familiar songs and rhymes.
