Giving a hoot
Children and staff at the Little Hoots pre-school in Mansfield,Nottingham are making the most of the great outdoors after receiving agrant from Derbyshire County Council for outdoor clothing. The childrenare now able to enjoy outside activities in any type of weather thanksto their new coats, wellington boots, hats, gloves and storageequipment.
100th birthday
Centenary celebrations for a nursery in West Harrow, London, took placeover five days in June. Events to mark the 100th birthday of VaughanNursery, First and Middle School started when the Mayor of Harrowplanted a commemorative tree in the school grounds. Children also burieda time capsule containing samples of their work and their uniform, andthe school held a reunion for former pupils. The present childrenenjoyed a slice of birthday cake at a tea party.
