Thornton Children's Centre has opened at Thornton Primary School inCrosby, Merseyside, offering a health club, a cafe, baby massagesessions and English and maths courses for parents, with crechefacilities.

Rural support hub

A special ceremony marked the opening of Ormiston Children's Centre innorth Essex. The centre provides midwifery, health, education and speechsupport to families in the rural area, and it is hoped the children'scentre will act as a meeting place for families who might otherwise feelisolated. It is run by Ormiston Children and Families Trust, which hasfive other centres in Essex.
