Children at Dolphin Nursery in Bracknell learned about where food comesfrom and how it gets to them when the nursery chef took a small group ofchildren to the local shop to buy the ingredients for their tea. Theyhelped select the purchases, which were photographed and displayed on aninteractive whiteboard for the other children back at the nursery tolook at and then used to make the meal.

Tops for growth

Tops Day Nursery, which has ten settings throughout Dorset, Hampshireand Somerset, is celebrating 19 years in business. Managing directorCheryl Hadland started her first nursery after finding out her own childhad ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia. She now employs 350 staff caring forover 1,500 children aged between three months and five years. Ms Hadlandsaid, 'I never imagined that 19 years after starting the business wewould have nurseries in Dorset, Hampshire and Somerset and have such acommitted team of qualified staff.'
