Redby out-of-school club

(Photograph) - Redby out-of-school club has become one of the first clubs in Sunderland to achieve the Aiming High quality assurance certificate. The club, which has been operating for almost five years, takes 44 children aged four to 11 each weekday, including (left to right) Jessica Bexley, ten, and five-year-olds Stephen Roves and Joy Murray. Norma McHenry, who co-runs the club, said the award 'offers assurance to parents and boosts all the staff who work extremely hard at the club'. To achieve quality assurance status, Sunderland Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership carried out a series of inspections of the out-of-school club, which also had to compile 'books of evidence' and face assessment from an external board.
