Secret of low fees

On the subject of fees (Letters, 29 July), at New Rainbow Pre-school we have successfully obtained a grant from the West Cumbria Coalfields Regeneration Community Chest to pay a year's room rental. This has enabled us to reduce our fees to parents by 1 per session to Pounds 3.50. Free places are provided for children who qualify under the nursery grant scheme, but we ask parents to pay 1 per week towards snacks.
