Room senior, Village Nursery, Trafford Park, Manchester

What inspired you to start working at the nursery?

Since school I’ve always wanted to work with children. The particular course I took was the NMCW one. Since training and the placement attached to this, I was set on working with early years children. Luckily I got offered the job at Village Nursery in 1997.

How has the nursery changed?

When I first came it was a smaller nursery, and there weren’t as many children there. The new owners have since doubled the size of the place and increased the group size. This is a bit of a challenge as this means more children (there are 131 in the whole nursery setting), but working in the pre-school room with around 36 children is fab.
