Parents have also made an unsubstantiated allegation of rough handling of children at a Careshare nursery in the Ably Campus business park nursery.
Lothian and Borders family unit interviewed several parents over the allegation but has taken no action because it found no supporting evidence.
However, the Care Commission said the allegations had resulted in additional training for some Careshare staff.
A Commission spokesman said that the staff:child ratios at the Ably Campus business park nursery had at times varied, and added, 'They sometimes met the national care standards and at other times did not.'
The spokesman said, 'We were made aware of the concerns with this nursery at the end of last year. Working with the nursery, we have now put a series of measures in place to improve the service, and pro- gress is being closely monitored.
