Calls to the NSPCC's helpline

Calls to the NSPCC's helpline have doubled since the launch of its latest drive against child abuse. Since the launch on 1 March of the charity's advertising campaign telling people that 'Real children don't bounce back', calls from children have risen by 10 per cent and from the general public by 15 per cent. NSPCC chief executive Mary Marsh said, 'The main theme behind the campaign is to raise awareness of child abuse and to encourage people to come forward and help the hidden victims of child cruelty. The doubling of calls to the helpline shows the message is getting through.'
