Returning officers in the general election were keeping their eyes out for some very junior voters. The Food Commission condemned food companies for using toys and games to 'hook' children on fatty, sugary and salty foods. A Cheerios counting book and a Milkybar personalised story book came in for particular criticism, The Daily Telegraph reported.

But healthy food could fight back with a new Government-approved cartoon to make vegetables fun for children, The Times revealed. Warner Bros studio has created Elfy Food, an adventure series where elves eat apples, carrots and broccoli to gain enough strength to destroy evil monsters.
