Five-year-old Thea Caine from Newcastle was inspired to take part in a range of tiger-themed activities as part of Born Free’s Big Cat Nap to raise awareness of the threats faced by her favourite big cat.

Thea completed several tiger challenges over seven days, including staying in bed for 17 hours, tiger face painting and making her own two-minute documentary, which has been viewed more than 500 times.

There are estimated to be as few as 3,500 tigers remaining due to habitat loss.

Thea’s mum Cheryl said, ‘Thea was so keen to support her favourite charity that she even donated the contents of her money box. So far we have raised over £525 and I’m overwhelmed by all the support we’ve received.’
